The MU Club of Cincinnati, the Marshall University Foundation, and the Big Green Scholarship Foundation are pleased to announce the 2009 Great American ThunderFest and Big Green Coaches Tour golf outing which will be taking place in Cincinnati, Ohio on Sunday, June 7th and Monday, June 8th.
Marshall University alumni, fans and friends are invited to gather together in Cincinnati to celebrate a special day for the Marshall University community at Great American Ballpark when the Reds host division rival Chicago Cubs on Sunday, June 7th, 2009.
Many special events are planned at the game, including a pre-game reception inside Great American Ballpark that will include guests from Marshall University and the Cincinnati Reds organization, special Marshall University recognition during the game, National Anthem performance by the Thunder Tones, a Huntington vocal ensemble, and Marshall University “first-pitch” honors by a VERY SPECIAL former Marshall University football star and Cincinnati Bengals Safety Chris Crocker. Chris Crocker, Red Dawson, MU President Dr. Stephen Kopp, and other Marshall celebrities will also be on hand for pre-game festivities.
On Monday, June 8th the Big Green Coaches Tour rolls into Cincinnati and will put a capstone on the weekend with a golf scramble and a reception / dinner event at Legendary Run Golf Course. Marshall Coaches and former Marshall athletes will be on hand for the golf and the dinner at Legendary Run.
